The 23rd INS International Symposium on "Nuclear and Particle
Physics with Meson Beams in the 1 GeV/c Region" will be held at
the main campus of the University of Tokyo from March 15 through
18, 1995. The objective of the symposium is to discuss the present
status of theoretical and experimental progress, in particular, recent
experimental achievement at the KEK 12 GeV PS as well as those
from high-energy hadron accelerators in the world. This medium-
size symposium also intends to promote intimate discussions on
future prospects of this expanding field in nuclear and particle
physics. The subjects to be discussed are as follows:

*Kaon decay physics - standard model and beyond -
 		CP/T/Lepton number non conservation
		Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix
   *Strangeness nuclear physics
		YN/YY interaction
Production, structure and decay of hypernuclei
		Search for H-particle/Double-Lambda hypernuclei
		Hyperon scattering, Kaonic atoms
   *Meson-nucleus reactions in the 1 GeV/c region
   *Experiments at KEK-PS, BNL-AGS, CERN-SPS/LEAR, Fermilab,
LAMPF, TRIUMF, etc.
   *Future perspectives

1. Symposium site
The symposium will be held at "SANJO CONFERENCE HALL" of the
University of Tokyo in the central area of Tokyo. You can easily
reach the campus from railroad or subway stations either on foot or
by taxi. Instructions showing how to reach the conference site will
be given in the final circular.

contributed papers for oral presentations. The others will be
presented in a poster session scheduled for Friday, March 16.

4. Proceedings
The proceedings of the symposium, including both the invited
talks and the contributions for oral or poster presentations, will be
published. A copy of the proceedings will be mailed to each
registered participant.

5. Registration
Those who intend to participate in the symposium are requested
to complete the registration form and to send it back to the
conference secretary no later than December 10, 1994. The
registration fee is 15,000Yen, which should be paid in cash (Yen only)
at the registration desk. The fee covers a copy of the proceedings, a
book of abstracts, the symposium banquet and drinks during coffee
breaks. The registration desk will be open at the "Tokyo Garden
Palace" on Tuesday, March 14 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. During
the conference hours the desk will be in the symposium secretariat
on the second floor of the SANJO CONFERENCE HALL. The final
program and the abstract book will be distributed at the
